Water heater installation may seem easy. However, if not done correctly, it can be costly and even dangerous! It’s always best to leave it up to the professionals.
Traditional Hot Water Heater vs. Tankless Hot Water Heater

Traditional water heaters offer a cost effective means of hot water for average lifestyles with low maintenance costs. If you have a large family or something that consumes bulk amounts of hot water at one time, such as a jacuzzi tub or garden tub, tankless hot water heaters supply endless amounts of hot water. Tankless units can also free up some additional floor space compared to traditional hot water heaters. Tankless hot water heaters do require yearly maintenance to optimize performance and uphold their warranty.
Water Heater Maintenance
Traditional water heaters do not require much but periodic maintenance is suggested. Manufacturers generally recommend draining and flushing yearly. This helps prevent sludge build up and extend tank life.
Tankless water heaters require periodic maintenance to uphold performance and warranty. Part of the routine maintenance is descaling at least once yearly. This process takes roughly an hour by a trained professional and is low cost to ensure a long life.
Warranty
Traditional hot water heaters generally carry a six year tank and parts warranty. Some manufacturers and models may have additional warranties.
The tankless hot water heater that Bilotto’s Plumbing typically installs generally carry a 15-year warranty on heat exchangers and 5 years on other components as long as they have been properly maintained.
